I did the headgasket on this golf, and it took me ages to get the distributor timing right. I remembered going to stock car racing with my dad and watching mechanics hunt for the timing by turning the distributor by hand until the engine fired. It works!

The journey was very long... and eventful

One of these wagons broke down going up the hill and they were mending the gearbox by the side of the road
